Prince Eze Madumere Resigns from APC

A former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has formally resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).


In a letter dated March 17, 2026, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of the APC in Ezinihitte Ward, Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Madumere said his resignation takes immediate effect.


The letter, acknowledged as received the same day, stated that his decision followed “deep personal reflection” on his political journey within the party. He described the move as difficult but necessary, noting that it was time for him to “explore new paths.”


Madumere, who served as Deputy Governor of Imo State, expressed appreciation for the relationships built during his time in the APC. He also emphasized the need to maintain cordial ties going forward, in what he described as a collective effort to build a better Nigeria.


“I sincerely feel it is time for me to explore new paths,” he wrote, while wishing party members well.


The resignation letter was reportedly collected by Hon. Ugochakwy Udeh at about 3:30 p.m. on the same day.


Prince Madumere, who holds the titles MFR, KSC, and FNIM, is a notable political figure in Imo State, and his next political move is yet to be announced.

NOTIFICATION OF RESIGNATION FROM THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC)


I write to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) effective immediately.


The decision, though difficult, has become necessary after a deep personal reflection on my political journey with the party. I sincerely feel it is time for me to explore new paths.


It is my utmost desire and expectation that we all continue to maintain the cordial relationship that we have built together over the years, in our collective desire to build a better Nigeria.
