Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has responded to allegations reportedly made about her by fellow actress, Ekene Umenwa.
According to reports, the controversy began after upcoming actress Adanma Waller posted a video online accusing Ekene of making negative remarks about several colleagues within the film industry.
The individuals allegedly mentioned in the video include Ruby Ojiakor, Chioma Chijioke, Uche Nancy, Chinedu Isaac, and Lizzy Gold. The clip quickly gained traction online, generating widespread reactions and intense debate across social media platforms.
Reacting to the development, Lizzy Gold took to her Instagram page to address the claims.
She accused Ekene of allegedly spreading false narratives about her private life in an attempt to elevate herself at the expense of others.
Lizzy alleged that Ekene claimed she has body odour and that her two children are from different fathers.
Dismissing the statements as unfounded, Lizzy maintained that the accusations were entirely baseless. She stated that many of her colleagues in Nollywood can attest to her personal hygiene and character.
The actress also questioned how someone who is not personally close to her could confidently speak about her private life.
According to Lizzy, the allegations were deliberately fabricated to tarnish her image and damage the reputation she has built over the years.
She further explained that she intentionally distances herself from certain individuals to avoid unnecessary drama, expressing surprise that her name was still dragged into the controversy.
Clearly angered by the situation, Lizzy described the claims as malicious gossip aimed at staining her hard-earned reputation.
In her reaction, she criticized Ekene’s perceived public persona, stating that it does not reflect the behavior allegedly attributed to her. She urged her colleague to seek forgiveness and carefully reflect on her actions.
